I'm a big, big, big lover of Wagamama - I had my first one with my friend Ruth in Glasgow just after I moved to Hamilton for University.
I decided I wanted to go here for my birthday because - well as I said ... I love it!
Now the funny thing is that I only like a few things of the menu. So I know you'll be asking yourself - how can you love a restaurant yet only like 2 or 3 things from the entire menu. The answer: Does it matter? lol
Now I always get the same main course which is the:
Chicken Katsu Curry (pictured below) - it's chicken breast deep-fried in panko breadcrumbs with curry sauce and sticky white rice and you get some salad on the side with japanese pickes << these pickes are amazing - so crunchy and yummy!
There are two options available for the chicken katsu curry - you can get it grilled or with the breadcrumbs - when I first started going to Wagamama restaurants I used to get it grilled as it was 'healthier' and at the time I thought nicer. I then got the breadcrumb one and my god it was even better and since then I have stuck with that.
For several years my order has always been the same grilled/breadcrumb katsu curry and a coke.
However Dave introduced me to gyoza (which for those of you who don't know is like a dumpling) - I specifically like the chicken type as it comes with this amazing dipping sauce - which is like chilli, garlic and soya sauce - it is amazing! I can't describe this sauce any better! I would bathe in it if I could!
Dave prefers the duck gyoza so he got that for himself. The dumplings are more like a pastry-type that dumplings (if that makes sense) - so there not really a dumpling I don't think ...
Dave always gets the Wagamama Ramen I think or it might have another name - which is like a watery-noodley soup with lots of things in it ... normally seafood (which I hate) and some other things ... I think squid, muslces, tea-stained eggs etc ...
He loves it! I don't like seafood so I'm not much of a fan - so I steer clear of him when he eats it.
But that's what we always have when we're at Wagamama and as I said I love their food! It was a good birthday too - getting to spend it with the person I love :D
Have any of you ever been to Wagamama? What do you eat/get when you're there?
Till next time ...
