If you've been following my blog then you'll know I love baking and everything to do with baking and cooking too. When Love Brownies popped up on my Instagram feed and I had a little wander through their Instagram - I followed them straight away - from the amazing brownie flavours and the pastel-esque coloured packaging I was hooked!

I was really supposed to wait until I get paid at the end of the month but I was bored the other night so I did a bit of online shopping ... well okay ... lots of online shopping. This includes Lush's new Valentine's range - post soon, these amazing brownies and a few things on Amazon - help me and my bank account!

First of all, the packaging was amazing - we all know I love a little bit of packaging! The brownies came inside a lovely little box and inside wrapped in some gift wrap. I like little touches like that - make you feel special and not just like someone has chucked something in a box, stuck an address label on it and gave it to Royal Mail.

Love Brownies started in a little bakery in Ilkley in West Yorkshire. When describing the area they live in it sounds just like home in Scotland - rugged hills and thick woods and purple heather. Almost all of their ingredients are local to the bakery in Ilkley bar the cocoa as it doesn't grow well here - understandable.

I'm one of those people who love a gooey brownie - straight out the oven with some cold vanilla ice cream - in other words, I'm picky and hard to impress but these brownies - wow! They seem a bit crunchy when you first bite into them but as soon as you've got a mouthful they melt in your mouth and are so soft and moist (I normally hate that word but I have to use it here). I don't like to admit this but I nearly ate the whole bag in one sitting - I had to stop myself.

I picked up this bag from their website HERE and it was £8. I think P&P was a couple of pounds too. Well worth it - let me know in the comments below if you've tried them.

Crispy Parma ham, red peppers and fresh herbs is such a lovely flavour combination. Parma ham usually comes in packets of six to seven slices - use the whole packet. Swap the ham for thin rashers of streaky bacon, if you prefer.

Serves: 4 // Prep Time: 10 minutes // Cooking Time: 10-15 minutes

Ingredients:
275g penne pasta
6-7 slices Parma ham, snipped into little pieces
1 tbsp olive oil
4 spring onions, chopped
150g roasted red peppers in oil (from a jar), drained and chopped
1 large garlic clove, chopped
200ml full-fat creme fraiche
1 x 30g packet of flat-leaf parsley, roughly chopped
1 x 30g packet of basil, roughly chopped
30g Parmesan, finely grated

Method:
1. Cook the pasta in boiling salted water according to the packet instructions, then drain, reserving some of the cooking water.
2. Meanwhile, place a large frying pan over a high heat. Fry the Parma ham for a few minutes, stirring occasionally, until crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and set aside.
3. Add the oil to the pan, along with the spring onion, peppers and garlic and fry, stirring occasionally, for 2 minutes.
4. Add the creme fraiche and bring to the boil, then add the drained pasta with half the crispy ham, most of the herbs and some salt and pepper. Toss over the heat for a few minutes.
5. Add the cheese and a splash of the reserved cooking water if the sauce seems too thick and spring over the remaining crispy ham and herbs to serve.

In the game there is so much to do - I'll happily admit I have barely scratched the surface but now that I'm level 70 (which is the cap at the moment) I do my dailies and weeklies which I've made into a checklist. I thought it would be good to share on my blog in case anyone else was looking for something similar.

Note: That this is correct as of patch 4.5

Dailies

Allagan Tombstone of Genesis

Capped at 450 per week - this gets you ilvl 390 Scaevan gear and weapons. You can get a full set from Enna in Rhalgr's Reach. I normally manage to max this out by Friday or Saturday at the latest after the Tuesday reset by running the Main Story Quest duty roulette and the Alliance Raid duty roulette - each gives 50 - totalling 100 per day. You can do other roulettes to get more but I like to spread it throughout the week.

If you are a Eureka nut - and regularly do the FATE train then this also drops Genesis so you can get them this way too.

Grand Company Supply & Provision Missions

There is 1 request each for crafting and gathering which yields decent experience. Depending on your situation craft it/gather it/buy it from the Market Board and hand it in. Certain items with a star will give extra experience. Grand Companies are located in the main cities - Limsa Lominsa, Ul'Dah and Gridania. If you hand in HQ (high quality) items you get bonus XP.

Beast Tribe Quests

Located all over Eorzea - you can do beast tribe quests for experience, ventures and reputation which ranks up and then you can purchase good items from the vendors of each tribe such as mounts, minions, housing items, crafting material - the list goes on.

A Realm Reborn: Amalj'aa, Sylphs, Ixal, Kobolds, Sahagin

Heavensward: Moogle, Vanu Vanu, Gnath

Stormblood: Ananta, Kojin, Namazu

Adventure Squadron
If you have unlocked your squadron it's a good idea to keep sending them out on missions so they gain experience and level up. Squadron Rank 3 is also required for you to get a promotion eventually.

Gardening
This might not apply if you don't have a house but I am currently cross-breading seeds in my garden so I have to tend to them daily otherwise they go purple and die. I check these daily for re-planting or watering.

Retainers
If you use retainers - I do a few checks such as taking any Gil they've made while I've been offline, making sure everything they sell is the best price (as prices change so quickly), making sure they have 20 items to sell (the max) and if they are back from a venture making sure I collect it and send them back out again (this would only apply if you haven't maxed them out yet). You can also check what is selling good on the MB and get them to collect this and then sell it if you have time.

Daily Hunts
There are daily hunts and weekly hunts. These are located at each Grand Company, Ishgard, Rhalgr's Reach and Kugane. I try (not all the time) to pick up the daily hunts and do these as they do contribute towards your seals - which I use to unlock the speed boost for the mounts in each area. There are also armour, weapons etc you can purchase too.

The Manderville Gold Saucer
If you want MGP then this is the place to go ... you can do the daily 3 Cactpot scratchcards for a chance to win MGP. There are also GATEs (similar to FATEs) and plenty of mini-games to get MGP which can be exchanged for weapons/armour/Triple Triad cards etc.

Weeklies

Doman Enclave Reconstruction
I was oblivious to this as I didn't tend to venture to Doma after I completed the story but you can contribute up to 20,000 Gil each week (this changes after certain amounts are reached) to help with the reconstruction of the area. I have been keeping my Allagan pieces I get from my retainer ventures to donate as they are just exchanged for Gil anyway. There is also a gratuity available on the donation which starts at 120% and goes up again when certain amounts are reached so rather than selling items to NPCs - keep them for Doma.

Wondrous Tails

Khloe is located in Idyllshire and each week you receive a new journal which requires the completion of old/new duties to get seals. Collect 9 seals and hand the book into Khloe for rewards. This is most popular after the Tuesday reset - if you check the party finder you'll see it will have lots of people looking for parties to do "Khloe" in the notes. I logged on just as the reset was happening and there must have been about 60 parties ... logged on the next week at 8pm after work and there was about 10 ... so easier to do if you're on around reset.

Weekly Hunts
I did mention above about daily hunts - but there are weekly hunts which you can pick up. Again exactly in the same place. I normally manage to kill (myself) level 50 and 60. Level 70 you might need help from some friends. These will get you 100 seals which help massively.

Raids

There are three raids currently:

The Royal City of Rabanastre (introduced in patch 4.1)
The Ridorana Lighthouse (introduced in patch 4.3)
The Orbonne Monastery (introduced in patch 4.5)

For each raid, you will receive a coin which can be used to purchase items to upgrade your armour/weapons.

The Manderville Gold Saucer
I did mention this above but you can also enter the weekly Cactpot lottery 3 times (different to the scratchcards.

Fashion Report
If you are also looking for a hefty amount of MGP then you can try out the Fashion Report each week which can get you around 60,000-70,000MGP if you get above 80%. You can try and figure it out yourself if you enjoy that or if you check Reddit there is someone who does it all on an infographic each week.

Challenge Log
The challenge log is a great source of experience if you need it, especially for Eureka if you are still at a low level.

I think that's everything at the moment. I probably have missed a couple of things - Custom Deliveries being one but as I haven't gotten to them yet I haven't added it to my checklist for the week.

Let me know though if you can suggest anything :)

I've got a sweet tooth and that's not a secret! I'm trying so hard to curb my habit of just wandering into the kitchen and picking at things!

I wanted something really sweet a few weeks ago and our food delivery wasn't due to the next day so there wasn't much in the kitchen - however, my baking cupboard was full as I've not baked much in the last few months! I had a look, did a little search online and came across this Millie-like cookie recipe!

For those of you who don't know - Millie's Cookies are these yummy cookies we have in the UK - they are so good!

Ingredients:
125g soft butter
100g light brown sugar
125g caster sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
225 self-raising flour
1/2 tsp salt
200g chocolate chips

Method:
1. Preheat the oven to 180℃.
2. Cream the butter and sugar in a mixer until light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla and beat for another 30 seconds or so until combined.
3. Add the flour, salt and chocolate chips and mix until it starts to come together and stop.
4. Take small amounts (similar to the size of a walnut) and roll in the palm of your hand into a ball and place on a non-stick tray or on a tray lined with greaseproof baking paper. Space out as they will spread a little.
5. Depending on how you like them - for soft/gooey cookies then around 7 minutes will achieve this. If you want a more crunchy cookie then 10 minutes will do.
6. Take out the oven and leave on the baking tray for 5 minutes until they set and then transfer to a baking tray.

The cookies are great warm and taste amazing. You can also store them in an airtight container!

Milkman Grooming Co. is an Australian facial hair company that provides products for your face whether it be - for a stylish mustache or a well kept beard - they have it.

I've got very sensitive skin - I blame my Dad! So when I was asked to try out Milkman Razor Rail Clear Shave Gel for Sensitive Skin - I jumped at the chance.

A huge advantage over this clear shaving gel to the usual shaving foam is that you can see what your shaving and where you are going with the razor and this was a big plus for me! You can see everything... if I was to compare the gel to anything I'd say it's like putting hair gel on your face. It's also full of hydrating ingredients such as aloe vera, menthol and rosemary oil which hydrates and moisturizes the skin.

Added benefits include using less water because the gel just wipes from your face and blade. You also don't need to worry about needing extra items like a bowl or brush.

The clear shave gel can be used for a variety of tasks such as a full face shave, bald head shave or just good old beard scaping.

The clear shave gel also smells amazing - it's one of those "wake up" smells for me and you come away feeling fresh and awake.

I first discovered this natural energy drink at work as one of our contracts started buying it in for their stores. We bought some from the local Tesco to try and it's amazing! If I could describe it - it tastes in my opinion like flat cider and smells like it too - yes I know that's a very odd description.

The natural energy drink is made with 7 ingredients:

Himalayan Rock Salt

Full of electrolytes and minerals that re-hydrate and replenish, the rock salt is sourced directly from the Himalayan foothills.

Indian Gooseberry

Packed full of vitamin C and rich in antioxidants, these powerful little berries help fight fatigue.

Green Coffee

80mg of caffeine from raw, unroasted beans for natural stimulation.

Lemon Juice

A staple on Everest expeditions because they are packed with nutrients that revive and refresh.

Guarana

Sourced from the Amazon basin and known to improve concentration and increase alertness.

Green Tea

Picked in Kenya's Rift Valley, this tea is rich in amino acid L-Theanine that helps reduce stress.

Beet Sugar

For a hint of all-natural sweetness, we use energising beet sugar from bio-diverse farms of the Netherlands.

You can buy crates on Amazon in 12s or 24s and you can also pick it up in supermarkets like Tesco. EAT restaurants also stock the drink too.

Highly recommend it over other energy drinks.

Let me know if you have tried it!

When I moved house last year I had a clean out and one thing that got culled was my underwear drawer - it spanned a full drawer and a pile at the side on the floor as the drawer at the time was exploding! I got very carried away and ended up with only 8 pairs left - probably shouldn't have gotten rid of that many. Anyway ... I've slowly been building my collection back up and when I was asked if I would like to try a pair of BN3TH underwear - I jumped at the chance!

The underwear is made with 95% Modal / 5% Spandex and this unique fabric is 50% more absorbent than cotton, extremely breathable, wrinkle and pill resistant. It's also the softest underwear I've worn - at one point I forgot I was wearing them because they feel so soft

What really interested me is the "MyPackage Technology (pouch)" - this is a 3-dimensional pouch which provides amazing support for your man parts and reduces the need for shifting or adjusting. I'll admit that it does feel odd to pop your bits into a pouch but after a while, you don't even notice it.

The fabric is also 190 GSM which means the underwear is very durable but still very weightless. The waistband is also 1 3/8 inch which is just the right size so there is no digging or discomfort.

Overall a great pair of underwear and I'm very impressed. My other half also told me my bum looks great in them so another plus!

I went with the classic charcoal/ink colour but there are lots of different colours on the website - more than I can count. If you are one of those people who loves colourful underwear then be sure to check it out.

I enjoy a good cookbook! If you've seen my bookshelf then you would know!! I had never heard of Prue Leith until she replaced Mary Berry on GBBO.

A big must for me with cookbooks is pictures and Prue's cookbook does not disappoint!! It's bright, colourful and there are pictures on every page!

I do love a good Christmas film! The classics are good but I love the films Netflix bring out! From what I've seen in the reviews this film didn't really get many good reviews - some saying it was cheaply made or boring or like so many other Christmas films but loved it!

It has the right amount of Christmas happiness mixed with that little bit of sadness!

Highly recommend it to anyone who loves to cuddle up on the sofa with a hot chocolate, a comfy blanket and snuggle up to watch.

I do enjoy a carrot cake - they are one of my favourite cakes to make and eat!

Ingredients:
4 eggs
300ml vegetable oil
400g caster sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
250g plain flour
2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp ground cinnamon
350g grated carrot
125g chopped pecans (optional)

Ingredients:
125g butter softened
200g cream cheese
450g icing sugar sifted
1 tsp vanilla extract
125g chopped pecans (optional)

1. Preheat the oven to 180℃ and grease and line a large cake tin, or you can also line two smaller cake tins.

2. In a large bowl mix together the eggs, vegetable oil, caster sugar and vanilla extract.

3. Add in the rest of the ingredients - plain flour, bicarbonate of soda, baking powder, salt, ground cinnamon, carrot and pecans and fold until combined.

4. Pour the mixture into the large tin, or the 2 smaller tins in even amounts. Put in the oven. For the large tin bake for around 45-55 minutes and then check if a skewer comes out clean. If using the 2 smaller tins then it should be around 20-25 minutes.

5. Remove from the oven and allow to cool in the tin for 20 minutes and then pop onto a wire cooling rack.

6. For the icing - mix the butter, cream cheese, icing sugar and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy. Take 1/4 of the mixture and use this for the middle of the cake. Then take the rest of the mixture and spread on top ... you can spread down the sides if you want or you can just spread across the top - do what you think looks good!

7. I found that popping the cake in the oven after iced helps set it - as it will be quick runny.

ENJOY!

Got another Mary Berry recipe for you - since I love her cooking so much! I was watching YouTube videos last week and the autoplay was on and some clips from her Absolute Favourites programme popped up and this was one of the recipes and I remember my previous workplace used to do a similar soup and it was so good!

Ingredients:
1.5kg butternut squash
1 large onion
2 medium carrots
1 red pepper
4 tbsp virgin olive oil
1 tbsp runny honey
5cm fresh root ginger
1.5 litre (2 1/2 pint) vegetable stock
salt and pepper

Method:
1. Preheat the oven to 200℃
2. Tip the prepared squash into a large, resealable freezer bag with the onion, carrots and red pepper. Add half the oil and salt and pepper and toss everything together until the vegetables are evenly coated. Tip into a large roasting tin and spread out to form a single layer.
3. Roast in the oven for 40-45 minutes, or until tender or tinged brown. Drizzle over the honey 5 minutes before the end of cooking.
4. Place the large, deep-sided saucepan over a medium heat, add the remaining oil and, when it is hot, add the ginger and fry for a minute. Pour in the stock and bring to the boil, then stir in the roasted vegetables and add salt and pepper.
5. Remove the saucepan from the heat and, using a hand blender, blend the mixture until smooth. Return to the heat to warm through and serve hot with crusty bread.

The soup is very tasty and great for a rainy day in fall. It pairs well with a crusty white bread roll straight from the oven with some butter.

Let me know what you think if you try the recipe.

I saw this on pre-order a few months ago and completely forgot about it! I am a big fan of Stardew Valley and so this game is right up my street!

The game starts with you unconscious and washed up on a small island where a young doctor saves your life. The island is mostly deserted and there are many run down buildings and a broken lighthouse and you love a challenge - so you set out gathering the resources and gold to fix the buildings and lighthouse and as you do more villagers return back and start to live on the island again.

You also take up residence on a farm so you can grow plant, water and harvest crops. You can also (once repaired) keep chickens and cows (there are other animals too).

I'm really enjoying the game so far - it is ALOT easier than Stardew Valley in my opinion - definitely in terms of making money as Stardew Valley make that harder for you to do.

I bought the Switch version but it is available on the PS4 and PC too.
I love apple crumble ... if honest I'd happily sit and eat lots of crumble ... forget the apple haha!

I think in America they call these "apple crisps" but to me they are mini apple crumbles - in cute little ramekins.

Ingredients (for crumble topping):
100g plain flour
100g porridge oats
100g butter
50g caster sugar
2 tbsp packed dark muscovado sugar

Ingredients (for apple filling):
6 Granny Smith apples
2 tbsp water
1 tsbp caster sugar
1 tsp cinnamon spice

Method:
1. In a mixing bowl add the plain flour, porridge oats, butter, caster sugar and dark muscovado sugar (if you don't have this light/dark brown sugar works too) - rub together with your fingers until you have golden brown rubble. Set to one side

2. Peel and core the apples and slice thinly. Grab a pot and over a medium heat - add the sliced apple, the water and the caster sugar (you can add your cinnamon here if you want too) and cook until the apple starts to break apart - for me it was about 15 minutes.

3. Grab your individual ramekins and spoons some lovely apple mush into them and then sprinkle over the crumble rubble.

4. Bake in the oven for about 30 minutes or until everything is nice and brown and the apple is oozing out the side.

5. You can serve straight out the oven or leave to cool. They can be served with a dusting of icing sugar, pouring cream, whipped cream or even ice cream!!

[Monzo]

I imagine when someone mentions "change banks" - you cringe - because there is so much work involved ... moving direct debits, transferring the remaining balance or telling your work your new account number and sort code.

I've was with my old bank about 12+ years and I was bored. I was paying around £12.50 a month (started off as £3.50) just to have an overdraft, warranty guarantee, card protection and mobile phone cover. I rarely used the overdraft (it was just there for emergencies), I didn't use the warranty guarantee or the card protection and from what I heard the mobile phone cover was the worst and getting them to do anything when your phone broke was next to impossible. So I asked myself - "why am I paying £12.50?".

I found Monzo in an unusual way - in that I happened to come across them in one of their new employee's YouTube videos "My first day at Monzo". I was intrigued and started googling them and checking out the reviews on the app store and was really impressed. I found it odd you could open an actual bank account on an iPhone app as I'd never heard of such a thing!!

What drew me to Monzo was the sleek, cool looking app. It's available on iPhone or Android!. I love that it pulls the logos from companies and shows them next to the transactions. Whenever you buy anything you get a notification instantly (signal permitting) to tell you and it also puts it in a certain category to help you track spending. It also lists your direct debits and shows when they come off and shows these in a "committed spending" category. You can also help with testing on Monzo Labs for anything they are doing - I'm currently using the "bill splitting" feature which is really good and lets you split transactions and request the other half from other people.

I applied for the account while sitting on my bed. Entered the usual sign up stuff (name, date of birth, address etc). Took a picture of my passport and then recorded myself saying "Hi, my name is John and I want a Monzo account"... then three days later I had a lovely hot coral card in the post :)

Some people might be a but dubious and worried about an online/app based bank however it is covered with the FSCS up to £85,000 for current accounts and £170,000 for join accounts. Being online/app based they do not have physical branches so you can't visit. They do have online chat and can call them if you have issues.

They do also have their own forum/community where you can chat and talk about Monzo-related issues (and some non-Monzo related issues). I just joined a few days ago and I've learnt a lot more about banking and Monzo than I did before.

Overall I am really impressed and happy with the bank and I'm glad I switched over. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a new bank. They do offer the current account switch service or if you like to do things yourself - you can do it yourself at your own pace.

Let me know in the comments below if you have switched or use Monzo.

These cupcakes are one of my all-time favourite to make and to eat of course! The original recipe makes 24 so I have halved everything to make about 12 (depending on how much you fill the cases you might only get 11).

The recipe also uses the cream cheese icing for the topping but I find you need to keep that refrigerated or it goes off quicker so I used Jemma's normal vanilla buttercream icing for the topping - of course this option is up to you - both work really well with the cupcake.

Ingredients (for cupcakes):
118g self-raising flour
1/2 tbsp cocoa powder
125g caster sugar
1/4 tsp bicarbonate of soda
135f unsalted butter, softened
2 large free-range eggs
1 1/2 tbsp buttermilk
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp red food-colouring paste
3/4 tsp cider vinegar

Ingredients (for the cream cheese icing):
125g unsalted butter, softened
120g cream cheese
420g icing sugar

Method:
1. Preheat the oven to 170
2. Sift the dry cupcake ingredients (apart from the bicarbonate of soda) and 3/4 of a teaspoon of fine sea salt into a large bowl, add the butter and eggs and beat for 60 seconds with an electric mixer (I prefer the free-standing type).
3. Mix the buttermilk, vanilla extract and colouring paste in a small jug, then add to the mixture and beat for another 20 seconds, or until well combined.
4. Scrape down the sides of the bowl with a spatula, then give the mix a final blast for a few seconds to make sure it's all incorporated.
5. In a cup, mix the bicarbonate of soda with the vinegar - as soon as you do this, it'll start to fizz. Working quickly, pour the bubbling mixture into the cake mix and whisk very briefly to incorporate.
6. Give the batter a final mix and whisk very briefly to incorporate thirds full with mixture, but don't bother to smooth it out.
7. Bake for 20 minutes, or until they spring back when touched. Leave to cool, transferring to a wire cooling rack after 5 minutes.

Method:
1. Beat the butter and cream cheese with an electric mixer for 2 to 3 minutes, or until pale and smooth.
2. Sift the icing sugar into a large bowl, then add to the butter mixture in two stages, beating well between each until beautifully smooth - if the mix seems to loose, add a little more icing sugar until the consistency is just right.
3. Once the cupcakes are cool, decorate them with the icing and a few of your favourite sprinkles and enjoy.

I originally bought this game on a whim for my PS4 when I was in my "recording gaming videos" phase - started recording videos and realised it was going to take forever so I decided to give it a miss - I think I then recorded and did Ori and the Blind Forest (a much better choice).

The game then came out on the Switch which I have and so I bought it on that - and I haven't stopped playing it since - I highly recommend getting it - it's currently on sale (or was depending on when your reading this post).

The game is a farming simulation role-playing video game where you take control of a tired office worker who wants a change - and guess what ... you just inherited your Grampa's farm in Stardew Valley.

There is plenty to do in Stardew Valley and I've been kept very busy the last couple of months - you can clear rocks and trees, plant, tend and harvest crops, buy buildings such as coops, barns, silos, stable etc, speak and build up relationships with the villagers, get a boyfriend/girlfriend and get married, have kids too - the game really does have everything.

It's also LGBT+ friendly - you can be gay and instead of "making a baby" you can adopt one instead.

You can also do little daily quests, longer quests and there is the community centre bundles that need you to collect certain items and this in turn unlocks bigger things on the map - like the bridge being rebuild or your greenhouse being rebuilt.

It is such a good game and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys simulation games.

Let me know in the comments below if you are playing/have played it?!

I've only ever been to one concert back in 2000 when Britney Spears had her Circus Tour so I was not sure what to expect when I attended Taylor Swift's Reputation Tour in Wembley Stadium on Saturday.

I'm struggling right now to find the words to describe it - I'm still playing the experience over and over in my head and trying to figure out if I had enough money to fly to another country to see her again - it was amazing! The music, the lights, the wristbands that glowed different colours, the other fans, the supporting acts, the dancers, the band - all AMAZING!

I went with someone I used to work with in Coventry - Sarah who loves Taylor Swift just as much as me :) Taylor also mentioned in the concert that this was her 13th concert of her career and we all know she has an obsession with all things 13.

She played all her songs from Reputation and also a mashup of a couple of songs from other albums which was really cool - I really enjoyed the mash up of Bad Blood and Should've Said No!

She also treated us to Fifteen (from her Fearless album) the reason for this was because it was her 15th night of her tour and so that made it special.
We didn't realise how close we were to the stage. We both thought we were up on the nosebleeds but actually we were technically on the pitch only about 20 rows from the front I think.

We had such a good time and I can't wait for her next tour!!
Hope you are all doing well? I have been rather quiet during May - not sure why which is annoying but I'm back with a book post :)
Dave picked this up on Amazon when he saw it and thought it would be a great little present for me and I absolutely love it! I mean I am Scottish and even some of the phrases in this book I'm finding hard to understand ... truth be told Dave thought it was another language completely.

It would make a great little present for anyone Scottish and who loves Harry Potter aha!

Let me know if you have picked it up or read it?

Hope you are all doing well? I started writing this post on the weekend and then got distracted playing the game I was supposed to be writing a post about.

As you can probably tell this post is about Pokemon Quest - a new free to play game on Nintendo Switch. My view on the game is that its a mix between Minecraft and Pokemon and I absolutely love it. They also announced another new Pokemon game due out in November which looks AMAZING! I'll probably do another post nearer the time!

The idea of Pokemon Quest is based on collecting ingredients and making recipes which attract new Pokemon that will join your party. You collect ingredients by completing main quests and challenge quests and by going on expeditions on the island. There are different biomes on the island and each has a different type of Pokemon for you to fight. There are a few levels in each biome and then a boss battle at the end. You have to be certain levels to win so you do this by levelling up your Pokemon and affixing them with strength and health power charms which again you collect like the ingredients.

The game is very addicting but like most mobile games you have a energy bar so you can't do it all in one go. You get 1 energy back every 30 minutes. There is also things you can buy if you don't mind spending money - you can get extra cooking pots, some decorations that increase the amount of Pokemon that come when you make a recipe or the amount of ingredients you get when you are doing an expedition.

The game is really fun and I already have a friend at work playing it - if you enjoy Pokemon you will enjoy this game! There is also a Reddit for it now which is really helpful (some might say its cheating - as all the recipes are on there) and a Discord channel too if you want to chat to other people.

Let me know if you are playing and what your best Pokemon are?!

I do love a good question tag ...

1. Are you named after anyone?
I don't think so ... my mum did tell me that I was nearly called Jonathon but they thought I'd get teased so they settled on John.

2. When was the last time you cried?
I can't actually remember - I watch Grey's Anatomy and their episodes are quite emotional sometimes so probably when I was watching one of those.

3. Do you have kids?
Haaaa, no! Haven't decided on that yet!

4. If you were another person, would you be friend of yourself?
Probably not ... I am quite odd!

5. Do you use sarcasm a lot?

I have been trying not to watch anything new because I'm currently watching so many different shows but I saw the promo for Lost in Space and just had to watch it when it came out. When Netflix released the show - they released all episodes at once so the binge watch began!!

I managed 7 episodes in one day and then the last 3 the next morning!

I only ever knew about the film Lost in Space which has Joey from Friends (Matt Le Blanc) but apparently there was also a very old tv series that ran on CBS back in 1965. The Netflix series is set 30 years in the future where space colonisation is a reality and the Robinson family are off in search of a new planet that can support life ... until something crazy happens (I don't want to spoil it for anyone lol).

The ratings have recently been released and in the first three days after the episodes were released on Netflix it drew in 6.3 million US viewers and 1.2 million watched the finale in that period too. Apparently a second season has been green lit but we shouldn't expect it until 2019, maybe even 2020 but I am so excited already!

Let me know if you watch it as I need to talk to someone about it :) :)

I had a busy week covering shifts while a colleague went on holiday to Japan so my blog has been quiet however that did not stop me discovering a yummy new company!!

As I mentioned - I only just recently came across this company via my work and as I can't just go around eating the product at work - I went straight to Tesco and bought every flavour I could get my hands on :)
My current favourite of the pots that I bought has to be the mango, lime and coconut - the flavours compliment each other so well and the flavours were not too overpowering.
Another favourite - close second - was the salted caramel and chocolate pot. I do enjoy the whole salted caramel train that everyone hopped on ... and the sweet and salty-ness really makes me swoon :)

Let me know in the comments below if you have picked any of these wonderful pots up?!
Someone I work with has recently been bring in some kind of salted pretzel tiffin made by Tesco - it's those little bitesize party ones you get in a party bag and it's amazing! It got me thinking that I could make something like it - so after searching on Google for half an hour - I came across this amazing recipe - which I have tweaked a little:

Ingredients (for base):
200g dark chocolate
2 tablespoons golden syrup
100g butter
125g digestive biscuits
135g salted pretzels

salted caramel (either make your own or Tesco do a jar/bottle of it)

Ingredients (for topping):
200g milk chocolate
2 teaspoons golden syrup
25g butter
2 tablespoons whole milk

Method:
1. Line a 20 x 20 baking tin (like a brownie tin, preferably non-stick) with baking parchment. I also spray the sides with that oil spray or non-stick baking spray if you have it.
2. Either in the microwave (but do short bursts) or over a pan of simmering hot water melt the dark chocolate, golden syrup and butter.
3. While the chocolate is melting - use a food processor or a bag and rolling pin and smash up the digestive biscuits.
4. Similarly with the pretzels bash them up too but leave some chunky bits.
5. Once the chocolate is melted, dump in the digestive crumbs and the pretzel crumbs and mix until all coated in the chocolate.
6. Tip into the baking tin and smooth out so even.
7. This step is purely optional but I got a jar of salted caramel and a teaspoon and took big dollops and just plopped it into random places and pushed it down into the mix. I think I did about 9 blobs.
8. Set aside to start cooling down.

9. Get a fresh bowl and add the topping ingredients - so milk chocolate, golden syrup and butter and put back above the simmering water.
10. Once melted add the milk and it should go lovely and glossy.
11. Tip over the base mixture in the tin and shake the tin gently from side to side to help the mixture spread. If needed us a spatula/spoon to help it to the edges.
12. Cover with cling film loosely and pop in the fridge.

Note: If you feel uncomfortable about putting it in fridge still quite warm just leave out till its cooled down and then put it in. I never have much other food in the fridge so it doesn't bother me.

Continuing on from my "gaming" posts - after completing A Realm Reborn and Heavensward - I had to buy Stormblood - mainly because I hit the level cap near the end of Heavensward and I didn't want to loose all the experience.

Stormblood takes players to both Ala Mhigo and Doma. The main focus is to regain control of Ala Mhigo from the Garlean Empire.

Stormblood brought big changes to the FFXIV world including:

- Level cap is increased from 60 to 70

- New jobs - Red Mage (ranged DPS) and Samurai (melee DPS)

- End of PlayStation 3 support

- More actions for each job to go with the new level cap

- Overhaul of the battle system

- Additional skill system to be overhauled

- Reassessment of unused/ineffective actions, adjustment to "tiered" actions

- Adding new UI elements for jobs

- New areas introduced, comparable in size to Heavenswards areas

- Swimming and Diving added

- New Beatment Tribes

- New Primals

- New Dungeons

- New high-end raid

- The Forbidden Land of Eureka (similar to the Diadem)

- New gear and recipes

- Item inventory expansion

and lots lots more!

-

So far I have managed to complete the main story questions and the patches that are released at the moment. I have started on Eureka and levelling up other classes and my gathering classes too.
