So I bought this book before I went on holiday and like a few other things ... it got forgotten in the corner of my room.
I've recently started getting back into reading ... like I said last week in another post and I've started re-reading the Famous Five books - these I haven't read since I was 12 or 13. I remember it would take me a week or two to read one book and now it takes me about 2 - 3 hours.
Anyway enough about the Famous Five - this is about another book: Connor Franta's ' A Work in Progress'. Now I bought this book on a whim - I've only watched a few of his YouTube videos and seen him in collabs with other YouTubers I watch more regularly so I wasn't sure what to think.
I don't know whether this is a bad thing but I really enjoyed reading through this book but not because of the writing (not that it was bad) but the pictures and the design of the book are amazing! There are snips of pictures from his past when he was a child and school articles. He has letters his family wrote and they are in the book as if they were just photocopied in.
He talks about what it was like growing up at home, funny little events that happened each year as he grew up. What it was like moving away and how his YouTube took off. He also discusses other stuff - but I don't want to say too much and ruin it for you.
If I'm honest (I'm going to mention it again) the pictures do it for me - simple, pretty pictures - like some clouds, or hand prints, or a bowl of fruit, or some latte art. I don't know if it was Connor himself that chose all the pictures but if it was - then hats off :)
