#GinLover

Hey everyone :)

Do you ever get asked that question 'What's your drink?' - I have to say I hate that question! It's one that I could spend an hour answering because well I could never just settle on one drink.

I can't actually remember the first time I tried gin. As far back as I can remember I was introduced too and drank Gordon's gin and Schweppes tonic water - I just didn't realise there was so many different gins out there or tonic waters for that matter.

I recently got talking to Sarah (one of my managers from work) and another #ginlover and told me that I should try Tanqueray No. Ten and Fever Tree Mediterranean tonic so that's what this post is all about!

Firstly, the appearance and presentation - definitely a 10/10! The box is a shiny, smooth box with lots of artwork/decoration all over it. The bottle inside is a lovely deep green colour and had a thick expensive-looking lid. I paid £32 for a 70cl bottle from Sainsbury's (Tesco and Morrison's had none in stock). Gordon's is normally around £17 so this is a big jump so already I am anticipating this gin is going to taste amazing ... hope I'm not disappointed!

I then picked up the tonic also recommended by Sarah. It made such a difference to the drink. This is the Mediterranean version, but there is also a light version and a Indian version. One of my other managers Karen suggested trying ginger beer with the gin (yet to try this).

So I firstly tried lemon - as that is normally my go-to with gin and it tasted amazing! Normally I just add a couple of slices and let the lemon slowly flavour the drink but I squeezed a third slice's juice into the drink to get some extra flavour.

Secondly I tried lime - lime is one of my favourite citrus fruits! Again a couple of slices and a squeeze too. I enjoy lime because I find it doesn't have that acidic taste that lemon has! You could say its a bit blander.

I also tried grapefruit (suggested by Sarah) and raspberries (didn't end good and a bit seedy)

Overall I'm quite in love with my new gin and tonic! I think I may have been converted to Tanqueray instead of Gordon's now!

Let me know in the comments what your tipple is?! Are you a #ginlover?
